Carmen Miranda

Carmen Miranda was born 100 years ago.  She was a portuguese-born brazilian samba singer, precursor of Brazil's tropicalismo. Also a Broadway star, Carmen Miranda was by some accounts the highest-earning woman in the USA.

The next piece is one of the most beautiful songs written by John Cale, published in 1989 on his masterpiece Words for the Dying.
