Live video document of Light Bulb Music, an audio-visual performance by Michael Vorfeld ,  performed at 'Wabe', Berlin, June 30, 201. "Light Bulb Music is an audio-visual performance using sounds that are generated by different light bulbs and actuating electric devices. The use of different controllers such as switches, dimmers, relays, flashers and various others leads to changes in the light and the current flow. This is made audible by a range of microphones and pick-ups. In addition, fine mechanical sounds occurring inside the light controllers are amplified and integrated into the music. The changes in the light intensity, the incandescence of the filaments and the rhythmic variety of the flickering and pulsing lights is directly transformed into a comprehensive and microcosmic electro-acoustic world of sound."

Erkki Kurenniemi is a key name in the history of electronic music. He founded the electronic music studio for the Department of Musicology at the University of Helsinki in the early 1960s. Kurenniemi built several electronic instruments and one of his most ambitious project was the video synthesizer DIMI-O (1970-1971) that converts movements recorded by a video camera into instaneous music compositions. According to Wikipedia , "Kurenniemi created the first commercially manufactured and marketed microcomputer in 1973,two years before the American MITS Altair 8800".
