Steve Reich Awarded Pulitzer Prize

Steve Reich has been awarded the 2009 Pulitzer Prize in Music for his piece Double Sextet: "a major work that displays an ability to channel an initial burst of energy into a large-scale musical event, built with masterful control and consistently intriguing to the ear." (Pulitzer citation)

John Zorn on Equinox Festival

The line-up for Equinox, a new UK festival dedicated to “spiritual discovery and mystical tradition” will have John Zorn along with z’ev, Rob Mazurek and many others. Personally, I got really curious about Pestrepeller, an experimental drone-rock Noise group made up with musicians, broadcasters, writers and designers, including Edwin Pouncey (aka Savage Pencil).
